Resolve To Take Leprosy Towards Finishing Line With ZAFA
A new year starts with new hopes, new beginnings, and new resolutions. With the bright beginning of the year 2022, along with the world, ZAFA Pharmaceutical hopes for a healthy life without Covid. ZAFA also resolves to head towards a Leprosy-free Pakistan.
Since January is also known to be the leprosy awareness month, ZAFA deemed this as the perfect opportunity to spread the correct form of information about the said disease and also shed some light on how to avoid it and end it for good.
Leprosy, also known as Hansen’s disease, is an infection caused by Mycobacterium leprae which is a slow-growing bacteria affecting the nerves, skin, eyes, and the lining of the nose. Leprosy prevention is easier when you know the cause of the disease.
Researching on the disease, scientists found that leprosy is a contagious disease that spreads when one comes in close contact with someone with leprosy or when the affected sneezes or coughs and the healthy one repeatedly breathes in the infected droplets.
Leprosy is found to be curable if the affected person receives leprosy treatment in the early stages of the disease. To receive early leprosy treatment early diagnosis is necessary which means knowing symptoms is important. Leprosy symptoms include painless ulcers, skin lesions of hypo-pigmented macules (flat, pale areas of the skin), and damaged eyes (dryness, reduced blinked). If ignored these symptoms proceed to grow into large ulcerations, loss of digits, skin nodules, and facial disfigurement.
WHO declared Pakistan’s state to have under-controlled situations regarding this contagious bacterial infection, all thanks to Dr. Ruth Pfau’s leprosy awareness campaign. Dr. Ruth Pfau is known as Pakistan’s Mother Teresa due to all her leprosy prevention and awareness contributions.
Current studies by scientists show positive outcomes regarding leprosy stating that we might be the generation that ends leprosy for good and that it is only possible when each of us takes correct precautions in the line of leprosy prevention.
For the world today it is easier to fight and end leprosy as concepts like social distancing, face masks, and hand sanitizers are too common and in everyday use. ZAFA Pharmaceuticals urges Pakistani society to keep moving towards healthier times with zero existence of Leprosy and Covid by taking necsesary precautions.
Taking precautions and going for Leprosy treatment is no hard work just a couple of simple steps when you imagine walking towards healthier, better lives. ZAFA believes that 2022 is Pakistan’s year to prove the scientists right and be the generation that beats Leprosy for good. Let’s all walk together towards the finishing line for leprosy with cautious leprosy preventions.
